Cas client Banking: designing and building a new data platform on Azure

Design and build of a new data platform in Azure.
Context
The IT team's goal was to design and implement a new cloud-based data platform, interconnected with internal and external systems, such as Bloomberg and depository banks. This new data would enable the company to offer more advanced data warehousing and analytics services. In this context, our mission was to co-define a future state beyond the technological architecture, in line with the company's strategy, design a pragmatic and progressive implementation plan, and ensure the company's adoption.
Challenges
This project presented several challenges. It was to develop a data platform based almost entirely on the different layers of Microsoft Cloud AZURE, from IaaS to SaaS services. The platform had to process positions and transactions on a daily basis, including intraday, as well as other critical data for asset management. The big challenge was to achieve a significant increase in productivity and open up new perspectives for the development of the services offered by the company to its customers.
Solution and method
The solution adopted was to develop a data platform using Microsoft Cloud Azure services, including SQL DATAWAREHOUSE, LOGIC/FUNCTION APP, DATA FACTORY, POLYBASE, SSAS/IS and others. The implementation plan was designed to be pragmatic and progressive, ensuring smooth adoption by the business. The methods employed included joint definition of the future state, in-depth design and progressive implementation of the platform.
Benefits
The benefits of this project have been significant. The data platform developed has enabled significant productivity gains, while opening up new perspectives for the development of the services the company offers to its customers. The use of Microsoft Cloud Azure and the various associated services has helped to boost the company's operational efficiency, favorably positioning the organization in an evolving technological environment.
